Training and Volunteering
Train with us
Riverside organises a programme of free training for the community. We invite training organisations to Carnegie Building to deliver courses. People tell us they feel comfortable coming to us for courses. Through training people can boost their confidence and skills.
We regularly arrange courses in:
- -Food Hygiene, Food Allergies & Risks
- Paediatric First Aid
- -Teaching Assistant Training
- -Functional Skills English
- -English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- -Introduction to Community Interpreting
- – Courses for wellbeing, creativity and fun.
You can see the training already running in our current programme which can be downloaded here. To discuss future training, please contact us at reception or message through the website by clicking get in touch with us
Volunteering
Volunteering is good for the community and has benefits for volunteers. Volunteers can learn new skills, get a sense of satisfaction, meet new people and improve employment prospects. Riverside has been awarded the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) UK quality standard for the way we support volunteers.
We can offer you the opportunity to volunteer at Riverside or link you with other organisations. We arrange training and support so you get the best from the experience.
If you are interested in volunteering but unsure about the rules, details are available on the UK Government website: www.gov.uk/volunteering/when-you-can-volunteer . Better still, contact us through our reception or message through this website by clicking get in touch with us.
