We were delighted to host a Starting School event in Carnegie Building on 21st February 2024. This event was aimed at families with children aged 3-4 years old, ready to start school or nursery in September 2024.
The session was packed full of fun activities for the children and parents could speak to a member of staff from a range of different services including:
0-19 service: The health visiting team provided play focused learning activities as well as information on routines, toileting, school immunisations and many more
HealthWorks: HealthWorks provided a packed lunch for each child and gave talked to the parents about healthy eating for school children.
Action for Children: Action for Children provided information to parents about the incredible years pre-school programme, which parents can take part in.
Riverside Community Health Project: We provided healthy snacks and refreshments for the parents and did a fun activity with the children to help them prepare for table top learning at school.
Families that attended gave positive feedback about the services they could use and the activities organised for the children.
