More than 30 local residents came together for a free community event designed to bring vital health, wellbeing, housing and welfare services under one roof. The welcoming and friendly session provided a one-stop shop for advice, information and practical support – with attendees praising the positive atmosphere and range of services available.

The event offered expert guidance and information on cancer awareness, support to access and navigate the NHS App, Pharmacy First advice, stop smoking services, and childhood immunisations. Representatives from the Newcastle City Council Housing Team were also on hand, alongside welfare support advisors, school admissions guidance staff, and community pathway finders helping residents connect with local services.

A free lunch was provided, creating a relaxed space for conversation and engagement. In addition, attendees received a free £10 ASDA voucher, which was warmly welcomed by residents.

The event was open to everyone, with language support available in Romanian, Czech and Slovak, ensuring accessibility for members of the diverse local community.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting how helpful it was to access multiple services in one place and speak directly with professionals in an informal setting.

Organisers hope to build on the strong turnout and engagement, encouraging even more residents to attend future events and take advantage of the wide range of support available.
