We had a great time at the celebration event for Make Your Mark on 20th May at the John Marley Centre. This event showcased lots of projects funded in the Benwell and Scotswood Ward up to March 2024, including our Women’s Group.
It was great to be able to tell people about all the activities the Women’s Group did with Make your Mark funding. Thirty six women participated in creative activities, discussions about important topics and learning about the cultures and history of the local area.
Women tried their hands at cooking, candle making, embroidery, canvas painting and making scented soaps. It was amazing how our creative participants shared their ideas and expertise with each other.
Thank you to partner organisations HealthWorks Newcastle, National Energy Action and Northumbria Police who facilitated discussions on cancer awareness, energy saving advice, and personal safety.
