Are your children up to date with their immunisations?

Are your children up to date with their immunisations? If your child is in Year 8 or 9, they’ll be due their vaccines that will protect them from a range of serious infections.

If your child is in Year 8 OR between 12 to 13 years of age, then they are due their 1st dose of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. If your child is in Year 9 OR 14 years of age, then they are due their 2nd dose of HPV vaccine, as well as their Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio booster and Meningococcal ACWY vaccine.

These vaccines protect your child from a range of serious infections as they teach your child’s immune system to recognise these infections and respond rapidly if they are exposed. These vaccines are thoroughly tested and are very safe and effective.

All vaccines can have side-effects, but most are mild and only last a few days. Plus, not everyone will have side-effects following vaccination. The vaccines cannot give your child any of the infections they protect against.

You can find out more about these or phone 0191 643 2878 Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (during school-term and holidays; please leave a message outside these hours).

Watch a video which explains the vaccinations.
