We’re pleased to share an update on Digital Everyday, our new digital inclusion programme, helping local residents overcome barriers to getting online and build their digital skills and confidence.
Digital Everyday provides friendly, practical support with everyday technology – whether that’s getting into an email account, using an app, accessing an online service, getting connected to the internet or simply having someone there to show you how.
Digital Everyday Launch
We officially celebrated the launch of Digital Everyday with a community event in July, attended by local residents, staff, partners and people interested in volunteering.
The event gave people the opportunity to find out about our Digital Buddies, Digital Drop-Ins and Device & Data Support, meet the team and learn about opportunities to get involved. We were also joined by Connected Voice, who shared information about volunteering opportunities.

Come Along to Our Digital Drop-In
Our Digital Drop-In is now up and running, providing a friendly place to get help with those everyday digital problems that can sometimes get in the way.
You might need help with:
- Using your smartphone, tablet or laptop
- Emails, passwords and online accounts
- NHS App and GP services
- School apps and online forms
- Getting online and using websites
- Accessing benefits, housing, council and other services
- Staying safe online
- Downloading and using apps
You don’t need to be good with technology and no appointment is needed. Bring your own phone, tablet or laptop if you have one and we’ll work through things together.
Every Monday, 9.30am–11.00am

Need Help Getting Online?
We know that digital exclusion isn’t always about knowing how to use technology. Sometimes the biggest barrier is simply not having the data, internet connection or equipment needed to get online.
Through Digital Everyday, we can explore support with free mobile data for eligible residents, helping remove the immediate cost of getting connected.
Our Device Loan Bank is also being developed and will provide eligible residents with access to a device alongside ongoing digital support. This will give people an opportunity to practise at home and become more confident using technology independently.
Our early work has already identified affordability, lack of suitable devices, connectivity, language and literacy, and low digital confidence as barriers experienced by local residents.
Digital Buddy Volunteering – Coming Soon!
Would you enjoy helping someone become more confident with technology?
We’re developing opportunities for Digital Buddy volunteers to support local residents with everyday digital tasks.
You don’t need to be an IT expert. We’re looking for friendly, patient people who are comfortable with everyday technology and would enjoy helping someone learn.
Digital Buddies will receive training and ongoing support, with opportunities to get involved in Digital Drop-Ins and other Digital Everyday activities.
More information about volunteering opportunities will be coming soon.
